This page explains how DentaVacation (DV) rates the dental providers on our website. With this policy, we aim to offer transparent information to patients, clinics, and site visitors.
How Does DV List Dental Clinics?
Before we consider a clinic for ratings, our team vets the clinic based on the following criteria-
- Credentials or accreditations from international and national organizations such as ISO, ITI, ADA, etc.
- Licensed by national or regional dental councils or ministries of health.
- The DV team visits some dental providers in person to meet staff and assess their facilities and technology for quality assurance.
- The procedure price list should be transparent and offer detailed information about the treatments.
After we verify a clinic, it’s listed on the website and becomes eligible to get the DV Trust Score.
DV Trust Score
Our rating metric, the DV Trust Score, appears as a number at the end of our listings. This score is derived from a combination of DV management and patient feedback.

DV Management Feedback
DV’s management feedback uses the following criteria to rate a clinic-
- Financial accountability in the form of multiple payment options, refund policies, and warranties, where applicable.
- Patient communication on time, including clear responses, post-procedure follow-ups, and logistics assistance.
- Punctuality, for example, sticking to appointment dates and times, and zero patient wait-time.
- Trained professional customer service to address the queries and concerns of global patients.
- Feedback related to dental procedure outcomes.
Patient Feedback
The criteria that make up patient feedback include-
- Social media reviews on public platforms such as Google, Facebook, Yelp, etc.
- Reviews collected by DentaVacation about patient experience with the clinic.
- Post op feedback from clients about the procedure and the post-procedure care.
The Rating System
- The highest score a dental provider can get is 10.
- Clinics with a DV Trust Score of 8 and higher are listed at the top of our handpicked clinic lists.
- Every category mentioned in the rating formula holds points.
- If the categories lack the requisite data, the score will be marked as NA.
- NA is assigned as 1 point neutrally to all clinics.
- If the total points are 8, including NA competing with 8, 8 with NA ranks above.
Scoring Criteria
Management Feedback categories count as 1 point each.
For Patient Feedback, the points are-
- Social Media Reviews - 3 points
- DV Collected Patient Reviews - 1 point
- Post Op Feedback - 1 point
The aforementioned components have their own point systems. We derive the final points based on those.
Social Media Reviews
If Google or Facebook reviews are missing, the cumulative for the other platforms will be used. The social media ratings are used to determine the points-
- For a rating of more than 4.5, they get 3 points
- For a rating between 4-4.49, they get 2.5 points
- For a rating between 3.5-3.99, 2 points
- For a rating less than 3.5, 1.5 points
DV Collected Patient Reviews
- For a rating of more than 4.5, they get 1 point
- For a rating between 4-4.49, they get 0.75 points
- For a rating between 3.5-3.99, they get 0.5 points
- For a rating less than 3.5, they get zero points
Post Op Feedback
- For a rating of more than 8.5, they get 1 point
- For a rating between 8-8.49, they get 0.75 points
- For a rating between 7.5-7.99, they get 0.50 points
- For a rating less than 7.5, they get zero points
Rating Updates
Patient feedback is fetched automatically from Google, Post-Op Feedback Surveys, Facebook, etc., in our backend. This data is fetched semiannually.
Management Feedback scores are added manually by our team. We update these scores either quarterly or when valid concerns are raised.
Additionally, clinic accreditations are audited annually. This is to check whether any accreditation has been gained or lost.
Clinic Delisting
A dental provider on DV can be delisted for several reasons. These include-
- Termination of the agreement with the clinic.
- The facility shuts down.
- The dentist stops practicing.
- A complaint from a DV patient that justifies delisting a clinic.
- In-house patient reviews for the dental providers.
- Loss of international accreditation.
- Violations of data privacy as defined by organizations like HIPAA (US), GDPR (Europe), etc.
- Delay in responses to patient inquiries.
