The transpeninsular highway roads are narrow but safe to drive. Here are a few tips to drive on the Mexican national highway

  • Left lanes or “fast lanes” are considered passing lanes in Mexico
  • Yellow lights mean to stop, not just to slow down [21]
  • Road signs are in Spanish. Ensure to familiarise with them
